Ascent from a Dive acrylic painting collection

Each of these fluid acrylic paintings in the Ascent from a Dive collection was painted during a time when light shined through the deepest darkness.

Ascent From a Dive
Abstract Art Collection

Brooke Harris, abstract artist of Lexington, KY painting on the blue edge of the acrylic painting

This three-painting mini collection travels through the deepest, darkest waters to the shining surface.

The past 21+ months have been painful for our world, yet there is still light in the very deepest shadows.

Suffering can push us deeper towards hope and love.

These professionally-wrapped canvas paintings are an invitation to enter into the waters and experience new levels of ascension.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5

Each painting in this collection was inspired by this poem I wrote:

Ascent from a Dive

We dive deep
into the unknown,
lungs burning with
questions and shapeless forms.

What is that lurking beside us?
Failure? Death? A monster from the deep?
Take us up from this place.
Move us to a level where we can see the light.

We see the break in the shadows,
the striated beams filter low like little searchlights in the depths.
They pull us up, save us from ourselves and our doubts,
little hopes in the darkness.

Then Light pulls us —
pulls you and me closer.
As we rise, the pressure
doesn’t crush. We breathe again.

The light moves freely here. Ripples
on the waves, playful
and bright. Our chests slip
back into normal rhythm.

We swim further upward to the sun
and rise with breath in our lungs.
A deep release
into a surface glittering.
